The Francis Benedict Pecoskie Memorial Foundation seeks to help those who struggle daily with addiction and mental illness. It is our way of continuing the legacy left by our brother and cousin, Francis.
During his life, Francis was an inspiration to many. He graduated magna cum laude, B.N.Sc., from Laurentian University and his work as a nurse was really important to him. As a true scholar, he often engaged with his teachers after class on what was taught, sought out scholarly articles to further his learning and tutored students with learning disabilities during his spare time.
Keeping active was important to him as well and he enjoyed sports, especially hockey, and competing in marathons and triathlons. He also enjoyed music and was a huge Harry Potter fan!
What Francis valued most were his family and friends. He loved to spend time during family dinners, celebrations and game nights and was always giving gifts to those he loved. His spirituality urged him to always do what he could to help others and he often did this by volunteering through Church and the Salvation Army.
Francis was always appreciative of the support he received from the people who loved him during his struggle with addiction and mental illness. He continues to be an inspiration to us to carry on that support for those who are in need and we hope to live up to his example of the compassion and care he showed to others during his life.
The Francis Benedict Pecoskie Memorial Foundation is a federally incorporated, registered charity. It is administered by a Board of Directors.
